5.6-liter V8 Engine
The numbers are big. Take 305-horsepower and 379 lb-ft of torque. That's more than any other full-size truck engine,
standard or optional,* with a full 90% kicking in below 2,500 rpm for power you'll have at your beck and call.
Even more, 80% comes in at 1,000 rpm, putting it among the top of its class. But the story of Titan's V8 goes beyond
brute strength. No pushrod relic, this engine is a double-overhead-cam beneficiary of Nissan's advanced engineering.
An aluminum block and forged crankshaft offer exceptional strength, while keeping performance-robbing weight down.
In addition to the easy-breathing DOHC layout, the high-flow intake ensures that every gulp of air counts. To help
cut friction, the camshafts and crankshaft are microfinished, and the piston skirts have a slick coat of molybdenum,
all so the engine can deliver more with less effort. And taking a cue from aviation technology, an electronic drive-by-wire
throttle connects the brain, right foot, and throttle more quickly and efficiently than ever.

5-speed Automatic Transmission (Column shifter)
Five (as opposed to four) speeds mean closer gear ratios that can take full advantage of Titan's massive low-end
torque, as well as optimize fuel economy in higher gears. The Tow Mode holds lower gears longer, great when you
have a heavy load. The column-mounted shifter features a manual mode switch that allows you to upshift or downshift.

5-speed Automatic Transmission (Gated shifter)
Titan's 5-speed Automatic with Tow/Haul Mode also comes in a floor-mounted gated version for a sporty, precise
shift feel. An additional benefit during hauling or towing, it lets you shift between 1st/2nd and 4th/5th with
a quick slap right and left.

4WD System
At the core of Titan's off-road capability is shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive, which lets you shift between 2WD
and 4WD at the switch of a dial at speeds up to 60 mph. 4WD also includes a low-range 4-LO with reduced throttle
sensitivity, for severe conditions that demand lots of control at a very low speed.

Tow Package
What do you give a weekend warrior who already has every big toy he wants? The Tow Package, of course, which increases
towing capacity to the maximum 9,500 lbs on the King Cab (9,400 lbs on the Crew Cab) and includes a lower final
gear ratio (3.36), heavy-duty battery, extendable tow mirrors (on SE and LE only), automatic transmission temperature
gauge, Class IV receiver hitch, additional 7-pin wiring harness, and trailer brake controller pre-wiring under
the dash.

Off-road Package
The whole idea here is to save you a trip to the aftermarket. First on the list is Titan 4x4's standard 4-wheel
Limited Slip (ABLS), which offers phenomenal traction. Also included are Rancho® shock absorbers, a lower final
drive gear ratio, massive P285/70R17 BF Goodrich® Rugged Trail® tires, 17" aluminum-alloy wheels,
skid plates (on the oil pan, lower radiator, and transfer case), and fog lights.

2- or 4-wheel Limited Slip (ABLS)
An ally in any kind of poor-traction scenario, 4-wheel Limited Slip (ABLS) applies braking force to a wheel that's
losing traction while directing power to the wheels with a better grip. Titan is the only full-size truck to offer
4-wheel Limited Slip (ABLS).

Vehicle Dynamic Control
The available Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)* system is there to help keep you on your steered path. If your Titan
should start to oversteer (fishtail) or understeer (plow forward), VDC will reduce engine power and/or apply braking
pressure to specific wheels to help keep you on course.
*VDC cannot prevent accidents due to abrupt
steering, carelessness, or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely. |

Fully Boxed Section Frame
Horsepower and torque are only half of the hauling and towing story. When it comes to heavy-duty use, backbone
is just as critical. That's why Titan's is a reinforced steel ladder frame, with full-length box section rails
(enclosed on all four sides, as opposed to 3-sided rails on some trucks). And for added durability and less flexing,
all eight crossmembers are welded instead of riveted.

Advanced Braking Technologies
Big power requires big brakes. Titan has huge 12.6" Bosch® disc brakes with 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking
System (ABS) to help you maintain steering ability when you're hitting the brakes hard. But there's even more to
Titan's stopping power. Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) sends extra brake pressure to the rear whenever
it senses additional weight, whether it's a full tank of gas or a fully loaded hitch. And Brake Assist (BA) can
actually detect emergency braking and, if you're not braking hard enough, will help increase brake pressure.

Dana® Axles
If the brakes are Bosch®, you can bet the axles are Dana® — heavy-duty front and rear — because there's
no name like a good, familiar name.

Rear suspension
Titan's is a solid rear axle for strength and durability, with variable-rate springs that allow for more comfort
when the load's light, and more control when you're hauling something heavy. Wide-design long-leaf springs minimize
lean during lateral maneuvers, for better handling and superior management of cargo loads and towing.
